How will electrical wiring be installed?

TL;DR

To safely install your charger, an electrician will place a new circuit breaker in your closest electrical panel and run wiring from the panel to your preferred EV charger or outlet location. The length and complexity of the wire run (e.g. if the wire must run through an attic or crawlspace) impact installation costs, with shorter and less complex wire runs being less expensive. If possible, we recommend installing your EV charger close to your electrical panel to reduce installation costs.

To estimate the length of the wire run, imagine drawing straight lines from your electrical panel and along the edges of walls to reach your preferred EV charger location. If your electrical panel is located in a different structure from your preferred EV charger location (e.g. your house vs. a detached garage), an electrician might need to trench and run the wire underground.

The total wire run length is the sum of those distances.
